Description: Pictures of my final coursework. And what the time capsule contains.
I vaguely remembered my childhood until I did this coursework. I dug up all my old childhood toys. I flipped through all my old albums. I saw what other people’s childhoods were through doing my research studies. My mother sat down with me and recited the little story behind each photo taken. My baby photos told me I was really naughty. My toddler photos depicted a lively child who loved to run around on the beach, play at the playground, play with Barbie dolls and many more. My primary school photos showed a young girl who was keen on learning new things, curious about the outside world, curious about the adult world, and at the same time basking in the love that her family has always showered her in.
As I grew up, I felt that my parents did not understand the being that I gradually changed into. I often felt that I was misunderstood by my parents. And then I longed to go back in time, go back into the days of my childhood. Just taking a step backwards, away from the complexities of life, free from parental troubles and the stress at school. Therefore, I decided to base my coursework on the theme of “Childhood”.
The concept behind it is that it is a time capsule that contained some of my childhood memories. And whenever I walk into it, memories will just rush into my mind. Viewers will have an insiht to how my childhood was like. What toys I used to play with, photographs of my childhood life and so on.
To improve, I feel that I should have made more use of my time in the first half of the year to record some sounds related to childhood (like maybe children laughing?) for the time capsule. If not my coursework may have a good concept but the product seems a little plain… :/

i think it’s very interesting and unique and the idea of searching for memories of our childhood is really quite intriguing. Plus it is something i believe all of us can relate to. So KUDOS to you for the great concept(: I was just thinking maybe you could have used black duct tape to past down your sketches instead? cause the masking tape makes it look a bit unfinished/:
But i really like the fact that you pasted sketches and personal diary entries it does incite fond memories of my childhood for me(:
